The Aboriginal Justice Agreement is a formal partnership agreement between the Victorian Government and the Aboriginal community to work together to reduce over-representation of Aboriginal people in the justice system. The fourth phase of the Agreement – Burra Lotjpa Dunguludja – was launched in August 2018 and is committed to progressing self-determination towards a justice system which values, promotes and requires greater Aboriginal involvement in decision-making, program design and delivery.

Burra Lotjpa Dunguludja includes a number of exciting new community-led approaches to reduce Aboriginal involvement in the justice system. The Koori Justice Unit (KJU) is growing and we are recruiting new team members to support the development, implementation and evaluation of these initiatives, including programs and services for Aboriginal men, women and young people.
