Reporting to the Director, System Intelligence & Analytics, the Assistant Director, Centre for Evaluation and Research is responsible for leadership, strategic planning and operational oversight of evaluation and research across the Department of Health and Human Services (the department).

The position is responsible for leading a team of dedicated evaluation and research staff to undertake, monitor and support evaluation and research that informs department and government decision-making and aids continuous service improvement. The position is required to build and maintain effective working relationships across the department and with key external stakeholders to ensure high standards of evaluation and research work and dissemination and translation of findings into practice. The position operates in a complex and dynamic environment. It requires sound judgement, the ability to authoritatively plan and effectively manage strategic evaluations and research, provide and support evaluation and research capacity and capability across the department, and ensure work supports the strategic priorities of the department.

  • Sound knowledge and research experience in evaluation practice and methodology
