Land Information New Zealand (LINZ)
Deadline: Sunday 8 April 2018

An opportunity to make your mark!

LINZ is seeking a Senior Research and Evaluation (R&E) Advisor to join our small Insights, Research and Evaluation team. The R&E function is still relatively new to LINZ so you will not only need to think and operate in terms of the big picture but also deliver on the details in terms of R&E processes, protocols and frameworks. In addition, the ability to explain what is important (and why) in lay terms, and to build constructive relationships and influence stakeholders of all kinds will be invaluable.
Your expertise will underpin the advice you give to the business on how R&E supports LINZ’s strategic priorities and enables our outcomes while at the same time supporting our people to build an evidence base to inform core business activities.

In a nutshell, we are seeking someone with:

  • proven expertise across a broad range of qualitative R&E approaches, including developing and implementing evaluation frameworks (such as logic models) and an understanding of the application and analysis of quantitative approaches
  • successful experience in developing and implementing organisation wide R&E practices, protocols and frameworks
  • proven ability in procuring, and project managing, external providers to support R&E activity
  • the requisite relationship management skills to influence business groups on how to use R&E evidence to drive and monitor business outcomes
  • a communication style that is clear, succinct and compelling whether it is spoken or in writing.

At Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), we underpin New Zealand’s success with information about ‘where’ – that is, location information. From the best way to develop farm land, build a new suburb, manage a high country farm or navigate on land or at sea, our work and location information help people make better decisions and create economic, social, environmental and cultural value for New Zealand.
LINZ is one of the most engaged organisations in the public sector and people always say what a fantastic place LINZ is to work. You will be joining a large, friendly family that keeps a balance between high-quality outputs, and social activities.

Please apply online: https://careers.linz.govt.nz/jobtools/JnCustomLogin.Login?in_organid=17952 and submit your CV, and cover letter outlining your skills and experience for this role. We are looking for evidence of how you meet each of the key selection criteria listed above.
